Linux: Docky Closes After Waking Up From Suspend (Ubuntu 14.04)

docky-thumbHaving this issue drove me nuts. I run Xubuntu 14.04, an XFCE distributions of Ubuntu, on my laptop, and Docky failed to restart after suspending my session. This happens on some distributions including Ubuntu 14.04.  This also may occur when you plug/unplug the power cable as well.

Solution:

Run following commands to create /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_docky file with root access.
$ gksudo gedit /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_docky
Copy and paste file contents from box below:
And make it executable to solve problem for suspend:

$ sudo chmod ugo+x /etc/pm/sleep.d/20_docky
Run following commands to create /etc/pm/power.d/20_docky file with root access:

$ gksudo gedit /etc/pm/power.d/20_docky

Copy and paste file contents from box below:
And make it executable to solve problem for plug/unplug power cable:

$ sudo chmod ugo+x /etc/pm/power.d/20_docky

… and there you go. Fixed!
