Simple instructions for upgrading to Cinnamon 2.0 on Linux Mint 13/14/15. Instructions also for Ubuntu, but Cinnamon 2.0 will break Unity on Ubuntu 13.10. Fair warning.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-stable
sudo apt-get upgrade

Open the apt preferences file:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/preferences
Add the following lines:

Package: *
Pin: release o=LP-PPA-gwendal-lebihan-dev-cinnamon-stable
Pin-Priority: 800

Finally, run:

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Most themes for Cinnamon 1.8 should work without any issues on 2.0.
