Here is my list of movies that I like to watch during the holidays… in no particular order, of course, and not necessarily exclusive to Christmas:
1. A Christmas Story (1983)
Definitely, one of my holiday favorites. Many classic lines and a certain nostalgia that in ways reminds me a bit of my early childhood. TBS marathon, here I come!
2. Harry Potter Series (2001 – 2011)
One of my favorite series to watch during the holidays. I may be an adult, but I am a big fan of the series and have read all the books. And they must be watched in one continuous marathon.
3. Dutch (1991)
Love Ed O’Neil in this comedy. Some good one-liners and situations. And it is written by John Hughes. What’s not to love?
4. Home Alone (1990)
Nothing beats this classic. Sure, it’s predictable after watching it so many times. But you can’t help but laugh each time you watch it. “AHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
5. Groundhog Day (1993)
Bill Murray is at his finest in this movie. Makes me wonder what I would do if I had to relive the same day over and over again. My favorite scene? The groundhog pulling a little Mr. Toonces action behind the wheel.
5. Star Wars Trilogy (1977 – 1983)
Yes, folks we are talking about Episodes IV thru VI. And devoid of Lucas’ defilement. Han shot first. Yadda, yadda.
Empire is my favorite of the three.[Note: I can add The Force Awakens to this since it was freaking awesome. We’re not allowed to speak of the prequels in this household.]
6. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
I love this movie at Halloween and Christmas. My favorite is Lock, Shock and Barrel’s “Kidnap the Sandy Claws”. Mr. Oogie Boogie gets his kicks!
